§ 01 THE STORY

The Story

COMPOSITE PORTRAIT

Trauma lives in the body. It is not just a memory — it is hypervigilance, startle response, dissociation, and the persistent sensation that the body is not safe. Talk therapy addresses the narrative. Movement addresses the physiology. This program works from the body up.

This is a composite portrait. The story reflects patterns documented across many athletes. No individual is depicted.

§ 02 WHAT THE RESEARCH TELLS US

What the Research Tells Us

Rosenbaum et al. (2015) showed exercise significantly reduced PTSD symptoms (d = 0.78) when added to treatment. van der Kolk (2014) established that trauma recovery requires restoring body safety. Powers et al. (2015) showed aerobic exercise enhances fear extinction learning.

“You cannot think your way out of a body that feels unsafe. You have to move your way back into it. Slowly. Gently. With patience that honors what the body has been through.” — Noah Wickliffe, Flowbase Performance Series d=0.78 Effect size for exercise + treatment 12 wk Progressive embodiment 3 Pillars: regulate, embody, restore

§ 03 HOW THE FLOWBASE AI COACH HELPS

How the Flowbase AI Coach Helps

THE STRATEGIC ADVANTAGE

The AI Coach monitors your nervous system response and keeps you in the recovery zone — challenged enough to adapt, safe enough to heal.

Your Training Starts Now

Built into every Flowbase athlete account. No add-ons.

START YOUR PROGRAM

The AI Coach builds prescriptions prioritizing nervous system regulation — starting with gentle rhythmic activities and progressing as the body’s threat system recalibrates. The program never pushes past the point where movement triggers dissociation or hyperarousal. The AI Coach monitors your nervous system response and keeps you in the recovery zone — challenged enough to adapt, safe enough to heal. Your Training Starts Now
